(no subject)

I called my brother at seven this morning and went "OH MY GOD that was you, wasn't it?"

And he was all MINE IS AN EVIL LAUGH.

Apparently this is a family lj now. Sigh. I can't have anything nice.

I can't decide if maintaining seperate nc17_fic and my_fic tags is an adequate precaution, or tempting fate. I suppose if it really bothers me I'll figure out something.

It was a stealthy link!

See, I'm the oldest, so I think I've warped them a little. It was the Babylon 5. It's hard to recover from high exposure to Babylon 5 at an early age.

Heh, when I eventually got back to that tab, I finally noticed that the "that" was both bolded and in a different color. I have no idea how I missed it so many times! *pokes brain*

Did Babylon 5 air on cable? I don't think I ever saw it, though I understand the sci-fi exposure at an early age! I'm the oldest as well, and while my parents hated the idea of fandom when I was growing up, I think I've managed to get my youngest sister addicted to SGA. Heh. No such luck for the other two, though..

It was actually on TNT. Except in my house, because we Didn't Watch Television and the set was in the basement. So in my house all tv shows came on VHS from my aunt. It was seriously good science fiction (with delicately-filmed, so-very-90s canon slash, even) but a lot of people thought it was really depressing. The current equivalent is probably Battlestar Galactica.

Man, SGA is actually the one show my siblings want very little to do with. My brother has seen every episode of SG-1, but apparently space vampires are just too much for him. Too much AWESOME, that is.

I'll have to check it out sometime, then! Of course, I've been told to do the same with BSG, and...well, that hasn't worked out so well. If I didn't, you know, have to go to school or anything... ;)

I'm a couple of seasons behind on SG-1, but since I didn't want to spoil myself for the later episodes without having seen the previous ones, I never got caught up. Clearly, however, I was fine starting over with a new show, and I got hooked on SGA after just a few episodes! So much awesome, indeed.

I have developed a bizarre little grudge against SG-1. It's like it's a fanon OTP that I don't share, or the nation of Costa Rica. I know that's ridiculous of me. I will get over it eventually!

Did you not like BSG, or did you like it so much that it turned into a real life-eating timesuck? I'm afraid of the latter, which is why I've only let myself watch a few episodes so far. Because, Starbuck. Yeah.

Well, I've only seen up to about the sixth season, so I can't really judge how good SG-1 is now. *g*

I have actually never seen BSG because I don't have cable, though considering what I've heard from others, I imagine it would end up quite the timesuck!

Depending on how much a quality snob you are: you can get all of BSG on dailymotion.com .

I have seen no SG1 at all except for the first Rodney McKay episode. I dislike it purely because so many people I like like it :-) I swear I'm not usually that contrary about things.

Ooh, thanks for the link. Something to do during summer vacation!

Considering that you'd have ten seasons of SG-1 to go through, that'd probably end up being quite the timesuck as well. Perhaps it's for the best that you're being contrary about it, heh.
