Oh wow that was epic. That was epically epic. And it actually seemed to earn it, to me? Like, I thought the plot held together a lot? Usually when I think a plot was coherent on Who I discover huge holes on rewatch but I do not care as that was both epic and enjoyable.

I am glad we are back to the space gays, neutral on whether I think it's good to introduce them as space gays, and especially pleased that Victorian lesbians in space have now had the ante upped to "and one is a vigilante lizard alien".

I feel like Moffat might be able to write the Suffering Doctor in a way that appeals to me.

I am bummed out that basically every OT- I ever 3ed on this show is now awkward, but I am delighted enough by the way that this was handled that I will accept that.

Also I had somehow blocked out that this is a split season and now I have to wait until fall and I am TERRIBLE with suspense, I really am, I started watching tv after it was basically all available on DVD. Doctor Who is the only show where I've ever had to wait for a cliffhanger and I'm really really bad at it. GNARGH MUST KNOW AUGH. ... No spoilers.

Also if anyone has sound trouble with something that they ahemed, the most common error seems to be lagging sound until about 5:40 and then there's a doubled bit and it catches up. Hit "j" in VLC until the audio offset is -5600 and then when something happens twice for no reason pause and hit "k" until it goes back to zero.
