Book opening! HP party!

First, it should be recorded that 1) We were at the bookstore until 1 a.m. 2) I was the only girl in my group not in a Hogwarts uniform, though they did let me hold the stuffed owl 3) There were multiple points at which people in the line were threatening to spoiler me and I blurted "You spoil me, I #@$!ing kill you" and then realized I had just cursed at a children's book event. Oops.

There was an incredibly convincing Moody, eye and all, and a Snape and an Umbridge and a passel of small children in wizard hats and taped glasses who made me curse my lack of foresight, because dammit, if I had reproduced five years ago I would have had a literate child by now. And I would have stuffed that poor child into a Harry Potter costume and made them go to the book store at midnight, because I would have found it ungodly cute.

Second, it should be recorded that we - me and the soon-to-be-only roommate and her friends - read the first 222 pages of Harry Potter aloud, in a treehouse, while eating cupcakes and potato chips. It took about seven hours, and it was brilliant.

By the way, apparently I really am moving tomorrow, so I'm predicting that I'll be offline a fair amount. This will provide a good opportunity for the Potter to settle in my system?

We got out at around 1 too, immediately started reading and continued until 3 in the morning. Then we slept until 9:45 and read from then on. I finished at 5:45-ish. I agree, it was brilliant... the shock of being done still hasn't worn off.

I kindly told a drunken man in the chapters that if he tried to spoil me I would punch him in the face. Hey, he threatened my spoiler bubble!

So there were ten of us. This is important to note because my friend MB made a Hogwarts replica out of cake and gingerbread. (Seriously. So awesome) And it was so big that we had to try and force it on random strangers. It was too much cake for ten people. I can't even talk about the book right now, except to say that I think that Joss Whedon would be the perfect director for the film version. Think about it.
