1) The title is from We Did it All for Don, by Against Me!. (hello, charming mid-nineties folk punk!)
2) It has been pointed out that the GTO must have TARDISed to make the logistics work. To which I say, magical realism.
ETA: 3) I thought the Canadian nuns line was super-clever: turns out it was, on accounts of cesperanza got there first. There's a very similar line in Anatomically Correct. I reread it last night for the first time in months and very nearly had a heart attack. I tell you.

I'm emailing her a 'please advise', but in the meantime, I want to note that, while cesperanza is an awesome writer and deserves to be flattered through imitation, it was not my intention to rip off the good jokes.
