So sick. SO. SICK.
It's actually kind a relief, because I would have hated for the blech of several days earlier to be just, you know, life, and not the presentiment of viral invasion. And I started with echinachea before I got sick! So that should knock a day or two off. My goal is to be well by tonight, actually, because I have a cross-state bus trip at 6.

Eep, actually.

Still, I am mostly just enjoying having a job where if I am sick I can call in sick instead of having to scramble for someone to cover me and then not get paid and not make rent. This is one of the few times (besides when I write my student loan check every month) that I'm actively grateful that I'm not waiting tables like a normal college graduate.

SO, POLL:

I should finish Panthalassa Part II, because of Art and because there's an entire plot line missing, even though I've already been jossed so hard (it has after all been a YEAR) that it would also be sensible to delete it and never speak of this again.

But. I have been bashing my head against this thing for a very. long. time. and I think I'm out of energy. ([livejournal.com profile] phnelt has been cheerleading, again, for a very long time. It is definitely not the fault of my betas that I am flagging.)

I will give you my left kidney if you will finish it. I LOVE PANTHALASSA! I would offer you my ovaries, but I think you would have less use for them than I do.

Also, GET BETTER. Sickness sux. But you're right, sick leave - and, particularly, paid sick leave - rocks the house.

[identity profile] nimnod.livejournal.com 2008-09-26 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
No, you may need that kidney! ;)

[identity profile] nimnod.livejournal.com 2008-09-26 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, so it is time to take the orange juice and crackers from your young man and offer them to you? Well, not the same ones obviously. Different ones. You know. Fresh, not germed on. Etc.

And I will give you my right kidney! And a pony! And a cookie! Because I also love it so!

Ahem.

Hope you feel better - being sick sucks big time! (Paid sick days, however, are very much FTW.)

I'll give you vegan cupcakes, it would be so fantastic if you finished!

Who cares about space bullshit or whatever you are talking about? Write Dawn/Xander.

Ahahaha I probably made you feel even more ill.

See, I know that John pov is hard for you but when you do it it is beautiful and brilliant. Like, yes suffering, BUT you get results, you know? Sigh. Anyway, I honestly believe you're maybe a couple thousand words to done. At my last remembering, it was two scenes or so. You can totally do that! Because I say you can!

If you do the internet will reward you with les Mis slash, or something. I swear. Your comments are already the music of a people who really want their space opera, omg.

I did in fact spend all of Friday watching Buffy on his computer and making him fetch me tea.

The friendslist has spoken. I should have reconsidered before making this a democracy! Oh well. I will type like a typing thing.

If that draft survives it is on your harddrive. Lurking.

[identity profile] sapote3.livejournal.com 2008-09-29 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
... How about instead of some organs you read it through and tell me what to do?

::sigh::
FINE. LOVE MY WORK, WHY DON'T YOU ALL.

[identity profile] orangecrush1189.livejournal.com 2008-09-29 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT! You started it! I never knew! I want to go find it now, but I'm afraid of wading through whatever else might be hiding in there.

Mostly they pined and had feelings. It was very high school. Also I gave Dawn split ends.

The friendslist has spoken.

Never underestimate fandom's willingness to vote themselves cookies and unicorns and John Sheppards.

Devilish, you are! Dawn's hair is freakishly perfect! I will look for this sometime when I am not supposed to write three articles in 2 hours. I have to work tonight, too.

stop reading lj comments and work on your article.

OMG, so. Here is my theory:

All of the teenagers in Sunnydale are freakishly good-looking.
Sunnydale is on the Hellmouth. Teenagers are already mostly allied with the forces of evil. THEREFORE: the Hellmouth makes your hair shiny and your complexion clear up! All you have to do is be a certain level of low-grade obnoxious. THUS, once Dawn moves away from the Hellmouth she will get less whiny and her nails will start to chip!

This explains why the Scoobies were always running across junk from expeditions looking for the fountain of youth, btw. It actually does kind of work that way!

It's a bittersweet and conflicted love where we demand Sheppard, causing you the so sweet pain of writing fic!
<3
(seriously, tasty cupcakes. you know you want them)

[identity profile] rilestar.livejournal.com 2008-10-03 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
I would happily have a look, but I'm currently betaing 2 different fics, one of which is 30 pages, both of which have no concept of punctuation. Maybe when I finish them I'll harass you for a look.
