If you don't me asking, how long did you study for the GRE? I'm curious because I'm applying to graduate school for next summer and I have to take the GRE for one school and the MAT for another.
I really haven't studied. My planned study time is between now and December 6. I put off doing anything about grad school and now I'm aiming for a February admissions deadline. When do your numbers have to be in? The friend who just gave me her used GRE prep book said she did the email problems-a-day they offer on the website, and then spent the last two months before the test going through the book a bit a couple of times a week. toft_froggy recently crammed for the GRE and might be willing to answer questions, too.
oh god, definitely deep breaths. I still hate the GRE, and I took it like four years ago. You will do awesome! Do you have to do a subject test, or just the general?
I don't think I need a subject test. And that's encouraging, hah. I really liked the SATs - that's a good sign, right? (Right?) At least, I'm hoping I don't need a subject exam because I don't think I have a subject - I was an area studies major, and now I'm looking at more area studies + some kind of epidemiology dealio?
no no, didn't mean to scare you - if the universities you're applying to don't require a subject test, then don't worry about it. The GRE is a lot like the SAT, so you should be fine - I hated it intensely partially because I'm Canadian and never had to deal with the SAT.
Oh, don't worry, I didn't mean to sound so hyperventiliatingly terrified. I am maintaining my calm! I took the SAT for the first time when I was like 12, so I think of it as an old friend.
