(no subject)

So my goals for the day (besides, you know, finishing the Massive Document from Hell) were:

1) find brother
2) deliver noogie.

I had to walk across campus twice to accomplish this, but I can now give myself a check mark in the personal-goals department.

Well, and goal #3 was "eat delicious sauerkraut", so: check plus!

I swear this will be the last entry in the Sapote & Gerbal internet roustabout for a while.

I'm supposed to be reading "La Raza Cosmica" right now. How's your day going?

Hooray! Goal accomplishment and noogies? You are on a roll! And, I think the noogie was well deserved.

I felt just as accomplished yesterday after my seaweed inari ... I'd actually been thinking about it since the night before: "Ooooh, I could have seaweed inari for lunch! And should I have the avocado handroll or the vegie/tofu handroll?" (Avocado. There were no vegie/tofu ones left.) I get excited by seaweed. Do you think that is a problem?

You know, I just now discovered that nori + rice = love. I can't believe I lived all these years nori-less. So no, I think that is the solution to a problem, where the problem is "how do I make rice awesome?"

There can even be a formula to back up the solution. It'd be something like: 5su + 2so + MIRIN = <3 ... or whatever the right measurements are for the sugar to salt ratio when seasoning the rice ... I'm pretty sure it was 5 teaspoons of sugar, can't remember how much salt ... I haven't made it for a while.

You have a lot of catching up to do, you know!

I have a habit of seasoning the rice with mango pickles. It's pan-Asian fusion? One of the international students brought potatoes sauteed in mirin to a potluck at my house last semester and it was the best thing ever, but I haven't gone to find mirin of my own yet.

Accomplishing goals is good. :D
