Lately my brain has been full of bits and pieces of fandom stuff - other people's fanfiction, bits of vids, random characterizations cropping up while I'm in class trying to learn Bowen's Reaction Series for the third time. I wish the static would coalesce into a story, because I'd like to start writing again. I might even manage to get a whole story out. I'm a little hesitant, because this is the first time I've thought about fanfiction leaving my harddrive, and I know the first few things I put on the internet will be godawful. But no one ever improved by sparing the internet badfic, right?

I've been playing with vidding every evening for a little bit - it's actually really soothing, like painting with motion. Last night I had a dream where I looked at videos I liked from imeem frame by frame and watched the transitions and how they were put together. Well, yes, I have a good visual memory, and also an easily-swayed subconcious. I may have actually learned something. If only I could do this for schoolwork!

In real life news, today I bought a box to put our files in, so that I'm no longer splitting a rusty file drawer with the professor's collection of old phone books. I am moving up in the world! However that did remind me that the literature I have to review fills a whole file box, all of it xeroxed, none of it in English. I love my work, I do, but it is going to be a long semester.
