I don't have a lot of public feelings about the current big lj thing, but in case anyone hasn't yet, go get
fandom_counts-ed.
ETA: Okay. Yes. Yes, I do have an opinion. I think Six Apart screwed up, and for various reasons (I suspect people being out of town, and also some flailing and "oh shit! What is going on?" in the office) they didn't address their screwup in a timely manner.
I also think it's been all of three days, which yes, is a long internet-time.
I think that items reported by third parties always run the risk of misquoting.
I think it's amazing how fast and how massively fandom can mobilize to protect itself.
I don't think that it's time to jump ship quite yet. Secure our valuables and back up our ljs, yes. But I also think we should give LJ a chance to fix its screwups and set forth a real, reasonable policy for addressing these issues in the future.
If they don't address our concerns concretely in a reasonable amount of time, or if they fail to follow policies again, then we can start hopping from whateverjournal to whateverjournal.
Those are my two cents, because what fandom really needs right now is another opinion.
