sapote: The TARDIS sits near a tree in sunlight (Default)

1)I saw the Invisible Children van in town today - black van, big web address on the back - and the first thing I thought was not "Peace in Uganda!" but rather "BANDOM REFERENCE!". And then I cracked up. By the way, the boy driving was wearing giant square sunglasses with white frames. Just so you know. (I haven't been able to figure out exactly what they're doing here - is there a screening? Were they lost? This is where an in-van Twitter would come in handy - but apparently we have a very active Ugandan Interest group in town. I had no idea.)

2) Velvet Goldmine: the best movie ever, or the second-best? I am accepting alternate nominations for first-best, but unless it's Star Wars I'm going to need compelling evidence that Ewan MacGregor in shiny silver bellbottoms doesn't take the prize. (I need to buy that, and then watch it with brain-frying frequency. Right now I'm just listening to the soundtrack on loop, and that's not cutting it.)

3) It turns out that all you have to do to read Patrick Stump's blog is go to patrickstump.com, wait for the annoying thing to load (god, I hate Flash), and click on his hair. I shouldn't have done that, though, because apparently canon Patrick Stump is as precious and low-self-esteemy as fanon Patrick Stump, and, argh, get thee behind me, RPS canon! I do not actually wish to know that fandom can impersonate his typing voice really really well! (I have this horrible feeling I'm going to get over this last burst of RPS-wariness soon, though.)

How's your week going?
