... Anyone study vikings?

I am picking poor phnelt's history-major brain, and I don't think she even watches True Blood. I know there are medievalists who try to keep us from embarrassing ourselves when we write historical fiction, but is there anybody who's well versed in things Viking? So far I'm reading a lot of SCA websites, and I'm not sure if I'm getting it right.
