I'm uphill and way inland, and even though on the radar there've been orange bands going over me since early this morning, all we're getting is gloom and wind. We haven't even gotten rain yet, and the eye's well clear of North Carolina now. We went to lunch and the biggest problem people had was that the wind at the outdoor cafe was blowing their napkins away. And if you think that's indicative of my town - that people carry right on having brunch on the lawn with a hurricane overhead - you'd be right.
