Here are my predictions for the rest of the season and in fact the rest of QAF: they will turn out to be wrong, but that's okay.
Line up the major characters left to right based on age and heteronormative masculinity: Justin, Brian, Mikey, Ted, Emmet.
If each of these characters will turn towards the slightly younger or butcher person to their right: this will be the person they will be secretly in love with for the rest of the series.
None of these relationships will work out.
I actually am not hating the Justin/Brian right now, because while Brian is a manipulative asshole, Justin is showing every sign of following in his footsteps. The fact is, he is younger and hotter than Brian, and I really want to see Brian counter-manipulated. Well, I always root for the person who lost the subject-verb-object coin toss to win in the end. I don't think Brian is any sort of prize, but I want to see him played. Is that so wrong?
The Mikey/Brian is going to irritate me all season, because of course if Brian wasn't an asshole they would be together, but Brian is and they aren't. As is 1) I think Brian keeps Mikey around because that sort of puppy-love boosts his ego 2) I think Brian does love Mikey on some level, and he is one of these people who would not have sex with someone he loves, not just because he's afraid of his feelings or something but because to him the definitions of "sex" and "love" are diametrically opposed.
I'm not sure how much longer I am going to put up with the DRAMA but on the other hand, it is a fuckin' revelation to have a show where the camera treats men as objects of desire. Yes, I do believe in the male gaze, and this is one reason why I will put up with Brian. Because the camera / his choice of pants actually lets you see his ass! This never happens! (see for example the fannish excitement people display over getting to see a little bit of McKay's leg in baggy pants. This is because the camera is usually male and heteronormative! I argue!)
That is my big attack of women's studies for today. I feel better now.
Classes start tomorrow / I start looking for Gainful Employment / perhaps I will exercise or something. I have had an all-fanfiction all-the-time winter break, but it might be nice to reinterface with RL, partially because McKay and Sheppard have started talking in my head but so far all they want me to do is write Mary Sues where I am a dashing anthropologist who saves them from their awful, awful attempts at first-contact diplomacy. It's not that I don't have muses, it's that my muses are fourteen-year-old girls. Sigh.

And WORD about the fourteen-year-ld girl muses. Bitches! Why?! My one attempt at writing HP was specifically and intentionally meant to exocise that particular deamon, but she still rears her fluffy, green-banged, emo head from time to time. And also, OMG I wanted to write Mary Sues when I was wee like that, but didn't know what to call it. I had a huge epic story of Princess Abi, the somehow mysteriously concieved daughter of Robin Hood and Will Scarlet and I had never heard of slash. *giggles*

OH MAN I had totally forgotten about Robin Hood and Will Scarlett. When I was eight and oblivious I really thought there was something going on there. The combination of Mary Sue and mysterious medieval mpreg particularly wins.

I say be proud of your 300 page Mary Sue Highlander Opus! Everything at that age is a freaking Mary Sue, you know? Even origional stuff is all about you, because at that age there is simply nothing in the world that is not all about you. And 300 pages is nothing to scoff about. Go you.

Will Scarlett and Robin Hood are related? Which version?

My Mary Sue was always named Jolaida. Since I was 6 and first saw GI Joe. *headdesk*
