I'm quite behind on SGA and not a big AU fan as a rule, but someone linked me this and, well, I couldn't resist a title like that ♥
Anyrate, this story did an excellent job of avoiding all the reasons I usually dislike AUs: I could see the characters I know and love in the AU versions, but also these versions were really fleshed out; the background story was incredibly vibrant; and ... there was action! I liked it! A lot! Thank you for writing it, really.
Also, I just went to my first very-big-with-riot-cops-and-everything protest last week, and uh, we had to stop on the way to buy me a bandanna *grin* so I might have empathized with Rodney juuust a little.
