I have to approve of setting a story in Hitler's freaking office and just punching him in the face and putting him in a cupboard.
(I was really late watching this episode, hence also very late commenting!) YES, I loved this. It felt kind of programmatic to me, like 'Yes, we know there are complicated issues to do with history and ethics and stuff, but we are not going to go there, okay? We are just going to put Hitler in a cupboard.' So brilliant that they just never even went back there, not even for a punchline.
I have given up on trying to follow River Song's timeline, so am spared much of your head-breaking difficulties; also I thought the Amy/Rory stuff in this episode was justabout the most romantic thing I had ever seen EVER, and all the more appreciated after the previous overuse of 'Oh does Amy really love Rory, but does she REALLY, yes, but DOES she, REALLY', so that was gorgeous.
