Nerd McSue is possibly the best description of him ever. For me at least, the line between David Hewlett, Everyfanboy and Rodney McKay, Nerd McSue is blurrier than usual, so the fact that he is played by someone who is unabashedly One Of Us makes it even easier to identify with him. (The story And Be One Traveler (http://doom.unrealwords.com/doom2/) hit every kink I had and made up some new ones, omg. Also made me think that maybe a *lot* of us identify with both David and Rodney.)
And I love the idea of Rodney as unreliable narrator. John's *so* emotionally closed off that I sort of expect him to be unreliable.
Man, I could ramble about my Rodney love for hours...
re: WIP. Yayhooray! I am very glad you have not fully moved on to Doctor Who because I am full of joy regarding SGA. Joy that cannot be expressed without CAPSLOCK! And flailing!! (And might be jossed once S4 starts but there are pictures of David in tight pants. So whee!!) In summary: I am in the land of SGA joy and everyone needs to come with.
