Mad Max meta of the day

Is basically about people vs. things vs. masculinity and consent in this movie, but it's not a very well-articulated point (content warnings are spoilers, pm me?)

I was thinking about how there are two very specific arcs where men who've had something stolen from them instead decided how to use/share/give that thing:

- Max and his blood
- Nux and his death, which he was groomed his entire life to let Joe use and then at the last moment took back and used the way he wanted to

But also possibly in this vein Max choosing to let Furiosa use him as a rifle stand. Like, people are not things, but also he had the ability to decide how to use himself? MAX.

Basically insofar as this movie has a moral arc the whole thing is about consent, possibly? IDK. This is less well-articulated than my thoughts on desert horticulture but it gets me right in the feelings.

I wonder how many more days of Mad Max thoughts I have in me. I'm seeing it again, uh, Friday and Saturday, so I guess we'll find out.

Yesss.

Another example: The wife who was pregnant (was that Angharad? I am bad at faces so IMDB is not helping) chose to use her body as a shield at one point, to stop Joe et al from shooting at them for a bit.
