I am seriously sad about my lack of a Farscape icon right now. I think 1x09 was the first episode I ever saw - out of context somewhere - and, one of the things I struggled with deciding to get into this show is how repulsive all the aliens are. They're strange, and kind of gross. I'm obviously getting over it, I just - I wonder if this is part of seeing this universe through John Crichton's eyes, that I kind of have to fight classifying most creatures as "scary monster".
I loved Aeryn from the start, but John's growing on me the more he's goofy and the one with all the feelings and the more he doesn't try to to lord it over The Woman. I'm always completely braced for that, and whenever it doesn't happen I'm pleasantly surprised.
The food-cube smiley face, and the way he sits when they're talking at the end of the episode, just get me.
And then D'Argo and Pilot - oh, show. I actually started crying there. A little.
I'm glad that Zhaan is finally quasi-evil. I was ready for it to happen. I'm interested to see where she'll go from here.

That was one of the things I liked about the show - that the aliens felt so *alien* - completely unpredictable and therefore always potentially threatening.
I lost track of the show somewhere in s3 due to RL issues, and have been meaning to rewatch the whole thing, start to finish. I swear if (when?) you start vidding from this, I'm going to have to do that!
my farscape icon, John Crichton+Die Hard=unbearable love
One of the things I always loved to tell people about this show when raving about it was how alien the whole environment felt, aliens included. I pretty much feel that Farscape is the only sci fi show that doesn't feel like Gene Roddenberry could have comfortably created it. (And you know I love Star Trek, oh do I ever)

Just wait until you get farther in. Farscape is the most cracktastic show I have ever personally been witness to. And when you get to the end, don't have a heart attack, there is a mini-series that comes after season 4. :)
