Oh my god, Ianto keeps a secret diary with a lock on the cover. This is the best thing to ever happen ever.

Other bestest things ever: the Gwen/Rhys post-amnesia kissing, the Jack/crazy!Ianto cuddling.

Not so great: everybody getting brain-raped, especially Ianto and Tosh (hi! Serious noncon, show! Way to acknowledge it as noncon, though).

Inadvertently great: I start laughing like a goon every time Jack Harkness emotes. I do not know why.

You know what, though? I thought this episode was amazing. I can be as cynical as I want about the Retcon Communion, but I thought that scene - Jack showing how he values and loves every member of his team - was really, really moving. And the end, where Jack holds the orange sand and lets it fall through his fingers?

I liked that.

Man, Jack was an unattractive teenager. That does not necessarily fit with my view of him, but it can be countenanced.

I'm not sure if I'm going to proceed directly to 2x06, because it looks awfully spattery, and I just managed to eat a full meal with vegetable and sweet for the first time in two weeks. I do not want to jeopardize my fragile equilibrium. Is it worth it, flist?

Ianto's diary was hilarious ("For the record, measuring tapes never lie" -- hee!), and I liked that they actually had some Gwen/Rhys interaction that made me appreciate them as a pairing. *g* The Jack/crazy!Ianto cuddling was just adorable, as well; it was lovely how Jack kept his faith in Ianto (and the "You" and forehead kiss made me aww). Plus, yay for team!love and (vaguely) more character development? :D

Also, I kind of loved geeky!Owen? Believe me, I was surprised (um, of the Owen bit, not the geeky part *g*).

2x06...it didn't seem that splattery to me (not much more than the previews, at least, though I didn't watch those until after I'd seen the episode because I didn't want to be spoiled), and I definitely think the ep had things that you should [want to] see. Because whee, TW crack? :D So, IMO, worth it?
