The BPAL, it has me. It has me hard.
BPAL fans on my flist, now may be the time to sympathize, because I just got insanely lucky on ebay and might be about to have more imps than you can shake a copy of Neil Gaiman at.

Still locked out of my house. ETA: OMG HOME. Food. Shower. Sleep. YES.

DUDE. I THINK HEROIN IS CHEAPER.

Having said that, I am a recent convert. I love Snake Oil, Sin, Debauchery and Baghdad. Dorian and Morroco are not bad either. Which ones did you get?

and possibly inspires less fanaticism among its followers?

I am about to have ... many. I should make up a list! And then I can review them and swap them and discuss them with other people that like them and oh my god, they're grown-up Pokemon Cards. Now I get it. I am getting none that are on your list (since it's a random bunch of stuff some ebay person had in a drawer) but I am getting a vial of O, which everyone on earth seems to adore.

Have you progressed far enough to have, like, wish lists and the other internet paraphernalia that seems to crop up in that subculture?

AHAHAHA...oh shit. You're so right.

I have just purchased a set of imps from the site itself. (And they gave me three free ones, which was cool.) I have a list of ones I want to try - including most of the Good Omens ones. I am trying to resist the urge to fall down this particular rabbit hole. I do not predict me having a lot of luck with that, as I had planned to get a bottle of either Debauchery or Snake Oil this month and I might as well buy some imps at the same time to save on shipping and...that brings me right back to "Oh shit".
