Episode 4x1 did absolutely nothing for me - in fact I skipped most of it, despite CKR taking his clothes off - so I was a little worried about 4x2. But. I loved this episode. It is my new third-favorite, right behind Mountie on the Bounty and the first ten minutes of Asylum.
1. Perfectly-written Baby Fraser, all articulate and emotionally repressed
2. Kowalski's face when he was talking about his family made me melt into a big pile of goo.
3. And the camera work! I am not good at recognizing exactly what the camera is doing, but I know I like it. (And the longer it lets me look at CKR, the happier I am.)
4. and of course the first moment in the episode where Kowalski walks over to Fraser and the crazycakes part of my brain yells THEY ARE IN THE LOVE.
5. Fraser's heart breaking very quietly about the fate of the Northern Territories: it makes me sad, and it makes me go around my house and turn off all the lights that aren't being used, and then it makes me love him all the more.
I am working on my suspension of disbelief re: Kowalski's undercover status, because let's be honest here, his cover is blown ten different ways before he leaves his house in the morning. But if that's what it takes to make the show run, I can accept it. I think it's funny which things trigger disbelief: the ghost of Fraser Senior? Fine. Fraser's super-nose? Okay! Referring to Ray as Stanley in public? NOT ALRIGHT. It's just like in Finding Nemo, where my main problem was not that the fish talked but that they survived the Sydney wastewater treatment system.
ETA: Spent most of the afternoon helping my brother with college apps on Google Docs. 1) Who knew big-sistering could be done telecommuting? 2) I think this is what the internet calls beta'ing! It's more fun than I'd thought.

no, 4x02 is as far as I've gotten. And I haven't watched S1 or S2 either - I figure when I've run out of Fraser/Kowalski, I'll go back and watch the Early Years.
