Okay, re: the adult content flagging thing - yeah, censorship, problematic, likely to be abused, &c, &c - but seriously, isn't lying on an adult content clickthrough a major part of modern adolescence? Heck, Scarleteen got its start as an alternative to the practice of linking the "I am NOT eighteen or older" button to disney.com.
If you're not logged in, it looks like lj will offer you a classic "I testify that I am of age to read this material" clickthrough. You may have to submit your date of birth. Personally, those make me feel nostalgic for the days when I would swear up and down that I was born in 1971. And that brings up another point: when I first got into fandom, most adult content hosted on personal websites and fan archives had adult content clickthroughs. When we moved to lj, I kind of missed them.
That is all.
