So I am rereading Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover - including the slash fanfiction anthologies that she edited, oh buddy - and it occurred to me that fandom really, really can't seem to turn loose of writing the same kind of beautifularrogant deeply-hurt-by-their-childhood woobie over and over again.
What I mean by this is, fanon Ryan Ross totally equals canon Dyan Ardais (later, woobie-redeemed Dyan Ardais. Early evil Dyan Ardais is maybe goatee-verse Pete Wentz.)
Also, I am really enjoying (in the fluffy sense) One Good Knight by Mercedes Lackey, but has that woman written anything since 2003 that isn't about how she thinks Dick Cheney was behind 9/11?
