I get the impression that not everyone who reads my livejournal/dwidth agrees on the abortion-access thing, and of the people that agree, it's not everyone's pet issue. But it's an issue near and dear to my heart, and I'm writing this doctor and his nice staff a postcard thanking them for all they do. As I watched these people patiently counsel this woman, educate her, try to reassure her, and comply immediately with her wishes, I got a huge lump in my throat. These doctors and nurses deserve much better than being lambasted on Youtube for using correct medical terminology and patiently explaining the risks and benefits of a legal medical procedure. I debated posting the address of the clinic, but you can see it on Planned Parenthood Wisconsin's website. I'm sending a postcard (with no envelope - for their peace of mind - and no return address - for my peace of mind) saying "Your compassion is moving. Thanks for all you do." during my lunch break today.
It certainly feels more constructive than being furious that some people would risk other people's medical privacy this entirely.
