So say someone had just finished Avatar: The Last Airbender and is looking for fic with strong friendships and worldbuilding (as well as, you know, any ship that takes place at least five years out). Does anyone have any leads?

(Yes I did love it and it was in fact epic.)

I'd rec white_lotus as a starting point -- it's an impressively ship-war-free comm. It's currently full of Korra squee, but I'm sure a post asking for A:TLA fic recs would get lots of responses.

Thank you! I have only heard tangentially that there are epic shipwars out there. I don't necessarily get it because I would have to age everyone up five years in my head and who even knows who they'll be into five years after the series?
