1. Poor Allison has never shot anyone before except with a taser, has she? And the first time she tries she shoots a lizard in the head and it pulls the stupid arrow out. And then she stabs it in the neck and then she basically gets paralyzed in front of her stalker who was going to either attack her or step on her neck except that he wandered off.

Allison is going to go home and shake for like six hours.

I like that this show thinks people largely need motivation to turn murdery and bothered to give Allison motivation instead of just BAMFing her up for no reason. I also love that she keeps track of all the pieces in play and moves Gerard and her father to places on the board where she won't have to kill Scott, at least not yet. Gerard is four thousand steps ahead of her, but honestly Allison is good enough at people that she will be caught up someday.

1.5. [livejournal.com profile] orangecrush1189 and I both reported feeling really gratified that Matt wasn't a supernatural creeper, deep down, he was just a creeper.

2. Derek SHOULD trust Scott except that Scott betrayed him to Gerard. POOR DEREK. I love that the Magical Veterinarian (SHIP IT) was like "yeah, you have fucked up in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY there and it's mostly because your feelings are such a mess. Maybe you should calm down!". He actually calls him the worst alpha ever. It's beautiful.

Except what Derek is going to take away from this incident is that he CAN'T EVEN TRUST SCOTT BETRAYAL TEARS HEARTBREAK. I will express a little wistfulness here that Derek/Scott Wolf Bromance is not the primary fandom ship because I am taking this MUCH MORE SERIOUSLY than everyone else on tumblr.

3. This was an episode in which basically every senior male protagonist sat someone down for some lengthy exposition. I hate Gerard with a fury (I'm kind of glad that he's the big bad and will probably die of whatever he's taking the heavily-foreshadowed PROBABLY MOUNTAIN ASH PILLS for soon).

Derek's attempt to explain the metaphysics of the show to Stiles was - pretty much writing to close a plot hole fast. I do not watch this show for the well-thought-out worldbuilding, though I was kind of hoping to avoid a True-Blood-esque "our thoughts control the universe" gig. We still might! It was not very clear.

I liked that Stiles and Derek talked at all. Like I have said elsewhere in comments: my plan is to ship Derek/Scott until they are well-established wolf bros, and then sometime around season 4 (a.k.a. Stiles and his babyface hitting age 18) ship Derek/Stiles. You know they'll get four seasons now! They won awards and stuff. And honestly it is pretty imperative to me with high school shows to never ship an OTP forevs because high school forever soulbonds freak me out. I pretty much actually want everyone in high school shows to break up before college and then maybe get back together later. This gives me some shipping flexibility, which I appreciate.

4. I love that I trust Jeff Davis to be just straight trolling us with Sterek screencaps instead of, say, being mean about it.

5. Scott's betrayal of Derek is going to send Derek directly back to Peter Hale and you know it. GAHHHH SHOW.

6. Yeeeah Melissa McCall/Sheriff Stilinski. Also, I am gratified that the parents are finding out but also kind of hope it causes enough alienation that Scott has to sleep somewhere else and we get angsty camping.

7. Next week plz some Lydia. I can't stop listening to this song.

I don't know if he'll die of whatever the pills are for - I suppose that's an easy way to get rid of him - but I assumed they were there so Scott can discover them at a crime scene site at some point and Put it All Together.

You are definitely not the only one upset about the Scott and Derek betrayal fest. All I want from the end of this season is for them to hug it out and trust each other and maybe fight back-to-back or something, but I feel like with the way this show is going, I'm going to have to settle for at most, maybe like an exchange of nods or something and an agreement not to actively try to kill each other.

If Derek teams up with Peter Hale after this, he really is the dumbest/blindest werewolf on the planet. I really hope that that's not where this is going, because I feel like it would be a retread of the end of season one. :/
