Pursuant to an amazing rec set by rydra_wong (in comments), I have ordered samples of:

- All five of the Comme des Garcons incense series, though I am made aware that that is just scratching the surface of Comme des Garcons unisex-incense-and-forest smells. I appreciate that there's a whole perfume house that understands that I just want to smell like a tree, please.
- Knize Knize Ten, which was recommended as a really old-school castoreum (now synthetic)
- Andy Tauer Incense Rose
- Andy Tauer Une Rose Chypree (I'm determined to get this rose situation hammered out, apparently)
- L'Artisan Parfumeur Dzing!, which I believe everyone else on DW has already smelled, and which was recommended for animalic notes
- Andy Tauer L'Air du desert marocain
- L'Artisan Parfumeur Al Oudh, which was rydra_wong's suggestion for "heavy skank".

I appreciate that my range here is "smell like a tree", "smell like a pretty flower", and "smell like an armpit".

I AM EXCITED and possibly also about to offer to mail someone some perfume samples that don't work for me, but it will be a learning experience either way.

No, no, they understand that one may also want to smell like packing tape, or an overheated photocopier and willow branches, or like "violets that have been hit by a meteorite". They are very understanding.

Nah, I think you've also got "smell like a desert", "smell like steampunk machinery" and "smell like cats" covered there.

That's the Comme des Garcons Stephen Jones one. Which I will be babbling about in the post about violet perfumes which I've promised to write.
