Poor Jon Stewart. I would call what he did up there a slowdown, because everyone I know who's seen his standup says the guy can go it alone if he wants to. Colbert did no such thing - when he opened by just repeating pronouns, I kind of hoped he would do that all show, but no, he was funny. Pfft. I actually took his riff on how of course he's on tonight, Stephen Colberrrr hates unions as a concession to the fact that his show is different because he performs in-character as a jerk, while Jon Stewart, while I certainly don't think that he's like that IRL, does kind of perform as himself (and a Nice Person.)
(No links to clips, because I'm not setting foot on the Daily Show website until the strike is over. I'm not affiliated with anything that tracks my tv-watching, so really, I don't see how watching it hurts, but the website records my hits to show to advertisers, and, no thank you.)
Anyway. It'll be interesting to see what happens tonight - except, no more cable for me as I am going HOME \o/ so I'm going to have to torrent it on the World's Slowest Wireless. I'm not really sure about the moral calculus behind that, but, again, not setting foot on TDS website, so -
Still no driver's license, car was in the shop. Soon. I hope.
