1) Is anyone else curious whether it's possible to do laundry in a stand mixer? I do not own a stand mixer, but this is very nearly motivation to find one. (Searching "laundry in a stand mixer" just turns up lots of people who hate to do laundry, which, seriously, googlefolk, I'm going to postulate that you've never tried to wash jeans on a scrubboard).

2) I am sort of enchanted by the construction of new grammatical rules to make lj html tags work in sentences (the possessive suffix after the username tag is closed, the question of where in a sentence to insert in-line links for maximum clarity, I'm sure there are other examples.) Does anyone else geek out over this? Heck, does anyone know anyone who's published on this that I can read?

I'm curious as to what a stand mixer is.

Stand mixers on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Stand-Mixers-Small-Appliances-Kitchen/b?ie=UTF8&node=289932). Seriously, doesn't it seem like it would slosh the water around well enough? Or is that just me?

The only other reason I could imagine for owning one would be to make meringue.

You'd need the right beating attachment - the bread hook would probably do well. (We call them mixers - they're the default i guess - and the hand-held ones are called hand-mixers).

The bread hook was exactly what I was thinking, except it might twist the clothes up too much. I've seen attachments that are kind of dough spirals, possibly those would work. I need to make friends with someone who owns this sort of thing.

Get yourself a teleporter and come & use mine. Or better, use my one of these (http://www.whirlpool.com/catalog/product.jsp?src=WASHERS&cat=115&prod=685), unless you want specifically to experiment with the mixer ;).

it will not link me to the Whirlpool item to which you refer, which is a shame, because it's probably a washing machine. I am so close to going back to doing my laundry by hand to avoid having it all smell like laundromat. No, wait, that's totally a lie

still, they say you can do anything with a kitchenaid. And teleportation would be the best fangirl power ever, yes?

Can you imagine. Most people would use it to stalk their star of choice and then disappear conveniently when they turned to look, i suspect, but personally it would really rock for things like dinner parties and cons so on. =)

i would imagine you wouldn't be able to wash much in a mixer ... the bowls are quite small. i may try it, though, and let you know. once i find a substitute bowl, as my friend never returned mine. i'll try it with the dough spirals.

... oh no, I have given rise to Science! I hope it does not backfire horribly?

I've been looking at the kind of washing machine that sits on your counter and does two shirts or one pair of pants at a time - unfortunately they seem hard to get outside of China?

...Well, now, sure. ;) It's not that different from how I'd handwash delicates, so hmm, interesting.

And I do occasionally geek out over html tagging, but what exactly are you referring to with "the possessive suffix after the username tag is closed"? *is being slow*
